Our Projects
Through various projects, we safeguard Greene County's Rosenwald Schools, preserving them as active community hubs and cultural landmarks. These efforts honor the transformative legacy of the original Rosenwald program, which provided vital educational access to African American children, ensuring that spirit of opportunity and empowerment lives on in our community today.

Summer Enrichment Camp
Our Summer Enrichment Camp invites young people to explore their heritage through hands-on learning in local agriculture, meaningful mentorship with community elders, and essential life skills development—all wrapped in a season of fun and friendship. Inspired by the Rosenwald legacy, the camp fosters curiosity, confidence, and connection across generations.

Oral History Project
Our Oral History Project captures and preserves the voices of former students, teachers, and community members connected to Green County's Rosenwald Schools. Through recorded interviews, we're documenting personal stories of education, perseverance, and community that bring this vital chapter of history to life. These firsthand accounts ensure the human experience behind the buildings is honored and remembered for generations to come. Share your story and become part of our living archive.

Annual Juneteenth Celebration
Each year, the Rosenwald Center hosts a vibrant Juneteenth celebration that brings our community together to commemorate freedom, honor African American heritage, and celebrate the enduring spirit of resilience and progress.
Featuring live music, food, vendors, and family activities, this beloved event honors African American freedom and heritage while bringing neighbors together in the spirit of the Rosenwald legacy. It's a day of reflection, celebration, and connection that continues our tradition of creating meaningful gathering spaces for the community.
